IL PIANO

"In the large kitchen, we wanted to preserve the wood burning oven. It's lovely making bread together, smelling the traditional aromas while we cook bread, pizza or even vegetables inside it."
"Later, sitting outside on the grass surrounded by the Tuscan landscapes that go on into the horizon, your gaze falls on a line of Cypress trees dividing the earth from the sky. These secular trees flank the drive to the abbey."
"At night, in profound silence broken only by the sounds of nature, rabbits come out from the woods to run and dance on the lawn under the moon."

An isolated but strategic position dominating the Orcia valley, on the way from Sarteano to Radicofani, the Abbey represents a typical example of an architectural complex that, through the centuries, has been involved in historical events that have changed its very structure.
The present owners bought the Abbey in 1989 and began a long period of restoration over fourteen years resulting in the complete recovery of the monastic building and twelve villas belonging to the property.
Spanning over 2500 acres, Tenuta di Spineto encompasses approximately 70 km of private roads, framed by verdant valleys, a small lake, wooded hills and cultivated fields. The villas are secluded one from the other, each in an isolated position that guarantees complete privacy and tranquility.
The estate offers the possibility of swimming, walking, fishing and relaxing. On the edge of the vast nature reserve that makes the Val d'Orcia a perfect spot for nature lovers. All manner of flora and fauna can be found throughout the grounds including tuscan deer, wild boar, rabbits, foxes as well as plant life to satisfy any botanist.
Visitors soon realize that Spineto is not simply a place, it's more a way of being... a special, diverse way in which to relate to others and ourselves, close to nature in the evocative atmosphere of a spot full of energies. When the stay is over, leaving with heavy hearts, many guests ask to return with family and friends.
